Christmas can be such a special time, but also a time for sadness, when all those you love aren’t with you for whatever reason.
This Christmas was so special but it was nothing out of the ordinary, just Jay, Jersey and I, photos and presents opened around the Christmas tree. A little puppy desperate to open her presents, especially the ones that smelled good. She makes us laugh until our sides split – thanks Jersey.
Perhaps being on dialysis has taught me to appreciate things more because I have been sitting here wondering why Christmas was so special this year. Having Jay to celebrate with makes Christmas the most amazing time of year – he even wore his Santa Claus shirt!!
After all I have been through though, how can I not know how special this time of year is, to appreciate the fact that I am even here to celebrate. Having kidney failure didn’t teach me that, I knew that already and know how blessed I am to be surrounded by the pure love that surrounds me.
Everything turned out well. Jay and Jersey loved their presents, the lunch I cooked was absolutely beautiful – can I say roast lamb that was almost perfect!
We found a day to smile. A day without dialysis, a day to spend just being ‘us’ and loving every single moment.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR. I hope that 2019 fills your world with all the happiness and good health you deserve, and every single dream come true xxx

Kisses for Daddy

Almost perfect family photo.
